Back From Bahrain

Close taxi to Doha Terminal - God Bless
Correction , I am back from Bahrain . My handsome husband on the other hand is still there for another 19 days ( not that I have a count down on). Poor Mikey got extended there for another two weeks to finish some other training that was initially planned for Doha. I had the chance to spend 48 hrs out there this week , and it was great to see him. The flight kicked my butt though , all 20 mins of it . For my aviation friends we climbed up to a whopping 12000 feet , cruise lasted about 35 seconds AND the flight attendants were able to complete a full drink service on a full a321. That is impressive. As for Bahrain 2 words would sum it up for me.....
1) Progressive
2) Pork

Let me explain , I'll start with number 2 . We were able to go to a restaurant and order prosciutto and beer. I ate pretty much ate half a leg of that tasty pig. I also had some beers to accompany my fine dining experience. In Bahrain you see a lot more North American traits and familiarities , not that I am for Globalization , but it did give me that warm feeling inside to see a Pottery Barn and Saks 5th Ave in the mall. At the bars you will see locals consuming some bubbly and getting a little frisky with the nightly entertainment. People actually drive like normal humans , there is green spaces , trees and flowers everywhere. You see people out jogging and more parks . There is however A LOT more military presence to be seen. I am telling you I saw some Transformers there disguised as tanks , and they were the BIGGEST tanks I have ever seen. Granted I am from Canada and I am pretty sure we have 2 tanks and 1 might be in a museum . I kid I kid. There were cops everywhere with some serious riot gear. It is sort of what I imagine Barcelona or Madrid to be like after they lose a soccer game .
We also went to the F1 track and had some serious Go-Karting sessions. These the fastest GO-Karts I have ever been in . The corners on this track would make Mario Andretti sweat. I did spin out and had to hold up my hand like a dork for some help. Mike did win but I swear I had him worried for a minute.

Should he consider a career change , he looks great
BUTTT enough about Bahrain back to Doha. Update on Megan's driving progress : Remember a month or so ago I told you about the different stages a person goes through once they begin driving here?! Well I have progressed to Stage 2 : The Angry Stage. No longer am I timid in my power house of a Kia Cerato , I am the bull of the road honking whenever I see fit ( which is about every 5 seconds). Our blue baby from Canada did make it here .Covered in cobwebs and dust  , that baby it sitting here with it's Ontario plates on it until I get around to getting it registered. I drove it home from the Port with my Ontario plates and felt such a badass , I was sure I was going get pulled over. I thought wrong everyone was too busy texting

We love all cats
Ikea opened here today and it was sooooooo aniticipated they added a whole 25 extra staff members :S When the Ikea opened in Saudia Arabia people got trampled to death ...... the things people will do for a Malm bed. Tim Hortons opens soon . I hate TH but I will be the first there for a double double and Boston cream donut.

Prit and I are going to stuff our faces on Friday at the brunch at the Hyatt. In preparation I am not eating for 24 hrs before to save extra room. I am soooo looking forward to this you have no idea. Is it bad that food might be the second biggest joy in my life?!

Back to the gym for us!!
As for my job , well I am going to say nothing other then I am seriously really good at vacation solitaire now. It's really hard , you only go through the deck once. I bet I can beat you.

Oh home update!!! Our friends Mark and Geeta welcomed their 3rd beautiful child into the world on March 1st. Dario Mungo get those chubby cheeks ready for some serious smooching when I get home!

Well I have finished my 2 glasses of wine and I need to go to bed for my 4:25 wake up call for work.

Love and miss ya'll
